About
To share the knowledge I have acquired working with preschoolers and their parents for more than 10 years .
To provide an accessible resource for parents and teachers filled with multi level, easy to follow , and fun activities for young children.
To support these activities with books, songs and play.
To add some fun and learning to your day at home, or some new activities to your classroom.
To promote the importance of early childhood education at home and at school.
To ditch the flash cards !
I have been teaching young children in various capacities since 1993, so you can imagine I have done my fair share of crafts, songs and circle times. I started as a day camp leader in high school. Taught various pr
eschool programs at community centers through university. Worked as a tutor while pursuing a second degree in elementary education . Most recently worked as a director and preschool teacher before becoming a full time mom. Since starting NTFFC in early 2008 I have had the opportunity to contribute activities to some wonderful websites and write curriculum for Itty-Bitty Bookworm a literature based preschool curriculum.
Early childhood education is my passion, despite a degree in elementary education my heart belongs to the little guys!

You have a very nice, fascinating and useful site for lil tots.
I really enjoy your blogs and you do have a lot of wonderful crafts to do with kids. I like the letter of the week as we try and do that each week.
I am wondering, do you have any craft ideas for learning numbers?
Thank you
These are my activities for number recognition:
http://www.notimeforflashcards.com/search/label/Number%20Recognition
I hope that helps!
Yes, thank you.
Great ideas. Love the cupcake idea.
Your site is so great! I’ve been sharing it with my friends. Keep it up!
I think you are one of the most creative moms/teachers I have seen! I love all your projects. I am amazed at how you do fun things without spending a lot of money. Thank you for all your effort at sharing your skills!
THANK YOU so very much! I am an American mother to two (an almost 3 and a very new 5) and am now living overseas in Bangkok, Thailand. As you can imagine, living in a foreign culture brings about many joys, learnings and challenges… add children to the mix and all of those joys and challenges grow. In finding your site, one area of challenge has been greatly diminished. I so deeply desire to help my children enjoy learning and any fun, educational activities that I can enjoy with them ratchets the quality of life up tremendously! I have been searching for a site like yours for quite a long time and am so very, very thrilled to have found it. Thank you. I look forward to being a very regular reader of your blog!
I think your facebook button is broken.
Are you on FB?
Allie,
I can't thank you enough for all the work you have put into NTFFC. The songs have been a great hit in our house. I can't seem to remember many songs from my childhood but watching the videos with my two-year-old has been so fun! I wish I could put them on a DVD for us but you have made them so easy to find. Now I want to add a section to our family blog where family members can sing songs to my son and daughter and pass on the songs that I don't remember. Thanks again.
This site is so great.
I was looking for ways to teach my child at home since I can't afford daycare and your site has been so very helpful.
I no longer feel like he'll be missing out on something.
The only thing I would recommend (that would make it helpful to me) would be if you put suggested ages for the activities.
I have a 6 month old and a just over 2 year old and trying to find activities for both takes a little work.
-heather
Heather- great suggestion, I am working on a function that will allow you to search for that right now. It's taking more time than I expected but it's in the works!
Hey there! I just found your blog and linked up to it. I love it!! I was wondering, and it may already be on here but I am overwhelmed reading right now-wink, what you do with your letters of the week projects after they are complete. Do you hang them, put them in a folder etc.? My email is sseaing@cfaith.com
thank you so much for this blog!!
Love your site, it's my last stop at night, and my first in the morning with my coffee, I have a home daycare, so you are my inspiration.
Did you realize that if you go to notimeforflashcards.com you get a Google error saying the URL does not exist? I was helping my youth librarian with this problem, and she mentioned you are a blogger, so I decided to try notimeforflashcards.blogspot.com instead, and got to your blog. But all your links point to notimeforflashcards.com and they are all broken. Wasn't sure what happened, or if you knew about the problem.
