There Is Something In The Water

Fancy Foam Fish

This activity isn’t just about a fancy fish, putting on the sequins one by one is great for fine tuning fine motor abilities! Although some younger preschoolers would love this , I would probably not do this with toddlers, sequins have a way of finding there way onto tongues and into mouths!
  1. Gather your materials. You will need 2 pieces of foam sheets, a marker, scissors, glue and some sequins. If you don’t have foam sheets fear not, plain old construction paper works too.
  2. Draw an outline of a fish on one piece of foam and cut out.
  3. Lay the first fish on the second piece of foam and draw a slightly larger outline and cut it out.
  4. Make small cuts into the tail for a 3D effect, don’t cut too far or you may cut the tail off!
  5. Cut a small mouth and hole for an eye. The larger outline underneath will make it look like there is a mouth and an eye! You could also use a gooley eye instead of cutting a hole. Glue the two pieces together.
  6. Add lots of glue dots!
  7. Add your sequins!

Love the shark attack song! My oldest is so into sharks right now, I came here for fun inspiration!

  • Allison:

Thank you! This is possibly my silliest song yet- but one of my son’s favorites so I had to share as embarrassing as it may be!

  • yenners:

Oh my gosh, what a cute song!! my daughter doesn’t want me to sing it to her though, she just wants to watch you sing it over and over!! Love it!
