Basics for Beginners !

“How do I start?”

I have been asked this question a lot lately, and I never mind answering it. The thing is is that every child is different and the younger the child the harder it is to ask them what they want to do today. So here are some of my most basic activities, most were done when my son was 15-18 months old . For a full list of beginner activities look in the index under Beginners .

This is my first time on your blog, and I am so excited! I have been really having a hard time coming up with new activities to try with my 18 month old, your blog is going to be such an amazing resource for me! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Thank you for these ideas! We have done the painting with water outside with my 16 month old, but I’d like to get him started with paints, etc. He has painted a few times before with his older brother, but it would br great if we could make this a more regular thing. :)

Thank you so much for this!!! My degree is in Child Development and Family Life Education. Ages and ages ago, I spent 4 years working in a day care. Yet, for the life of me, I couldn’t think of any fun activities to do with my toddler. He is only 13mo as of today…but I am so excited to have these ideas!!!!!!!
