And mommy bloggers need other mommy bloggers!
Which is why I am going to BlogHer ’09!

When I started No Time For Flash Cards I knew how much moms needed each other but I thought other bloggers were competition! Oh how wrong I was and how happy I am to have been so wrong. I can’t tell you how much I owe to other bloggers , this world is all about sharing and I am so glad I learned that sooner than later. I can’t wait to go , meet, share and most importantly learn from all these faces and names I have come to admire and look up to.

When EverythingMom.com asked in their sponsorship contest what contestants hope to get out of the conference , I have to be honest, I’m not sure. I know I want to make new connections, solidify ones I have made but I think the things I will come away with aren’t even on my radar right now. I didn’t take a lesson in blogging, I just started ( like most) and found my way , my niche and so far so good, but I know there is more – that’s what I want to learn , what is the right “more” for this blog?

Like I said this question comes from EverythingMom.com who is holding this contest for a coveted Blogher sponsorship. They also asked how I would spread the word about EverythingMom.com and their Sharing Revenue Program at the conference. I have been trying to think if a gimmick but that’s not me – I am a bad liar, I hate being sold something but when I am passionate about something that shines through.

I am passionate about what EverythingMom.com has accomplished in the 2 months since it’s launch. It’s different from other sites and forums because not only does it support it’s members,, it supports all their blogs! I have recently started blogging there as well “don’t eat the paint” is the name of my blog on EverythingMom.com and it’s a little look behind the flash cards, at me as a mom with a few exclusive crafts thrown in too! I can’t tell you the support I have had, and really who doesn’t need that? Also something that I have never seen before is EverythingMom.com ‘s Sharing Revenue Program- it really shouldn’t be called shared because you get to keep all the revenue! It’s a a wonderful way to put ads on your EverythingMom.com blog and keep the cash! So they support you and your bank account!

So my plan is to do what I did there but with more facial expressions you see in my song videos ( I swear I didn’t know I was that animated- it’s kind of embarrassing) . Just tell the truth, when I am asked where I blog I will say I blog at EverythingMom.com and they are ( hopefully …) sponsoring me because mommy bloggers need each other!

If you are going to BlogHer ’09 not only do I hope to meet you, but you should enter the contest too. If I don’t win I want someone I know to! Here is where you can enter- click for details!

  • Polly and Ollie:

I found this post really compelling this morning. After 3 years with a family blog, I kept feeling like it was a mixture of family news, recipes, projects for the kids, and my thoughts on parenting. I just started Polly & Ollie the other day, when I realized that I really wanted to focus on my kids, and sharing ideas that I had gotten from the blog world over the last 3 years. It is daunting to "start again" after having posted almost daily on my Tutta la Storia blog–but here we go!

  • teachmama:

This will be my first BlogHer, too. I'm looking forward to meeting you–and so many other cool mom bloggers! It is, indeed, a super-supportive group of people!
Good luck with the contest, everyone!

  • Allie:

Polly and Ollie is awesome! I am so happy you leaped it is daunting to start something new but you are off to a wonderful start.

Amy- your pimped out cozy coupe is so awesome ! I can't wait to meet you either!

  • Michelle:

    What an awesome entry!! :)

  • mommy niri:

You are one of the people I am so keen to meet and this post says it clearly why. You are so real, no fancy gimmicks, I love that.

I can't wait to meet you and good luck Allie!

  • Rebecca:

Good luck Allie, your blog is great and so is your entry.

I am quite new to blogging but can't believe the amount of support I get from other bloggers. It's amazing. I am still feeling out my blog, I just ramble about things that I hope others find interesting or useful for now, but I know how awesome going to Blogher and meeting other bloggers would be.

Have fun and I hope you win!!
