This week was a whirlwind and before you link up your amazing, creative and helpful blog posts I want to share a bit of news.
Many years ago I said to myself that one day I’d work with Scholastic. You may already know that this blog is syndicated on Scholastic.com but as of this week I am also anchoring the Raise A Reader blog on Scholastic Parents. I am incredibly excited to have a chance to share my passion for literacy with other parents . I am even more excited I get to do it with a dear friend and all around fantastic educator Amy Mascott from teachmama.com.
Check out Raise A Reader here.
Now enough about me! Link up and share.

Congratulations! That sounds so exciting. I’m going to go check out the blog now.
I hope you’ll have a minute in the middle of the whirlwind to check out my Snow Train Play post above. You’ll see that your very cool post with the cotton balls and wooden trains from last winter was part of the initial inspiration for our exploration down that line of thought…thank you!

How exciting for you! I love Scholastic. I believe a child’s self identity as a reader has a heavy influence in their over all self esteem. Books are the hidden key to success. (I’m a former teacher and remedial Reading Specialist). Good luck with your new blog. I love the part in Corduroy when he tries to pull the button off the mattress! 🙂
