Fairy, Princess, and Knight Activities
Here are your activities for the week. Click on the titles if you need more detailed instructions!
Monday
AM: Princess Playdough – have fun creating tiaras or other sparkly creations. The addition of small beads promotes even more fine motor development but don’t worry if you don’t have any plain old play dough gives little hands a wonderful workout.
PM: Bird House Fairy Houses – This is a fun craft hack. These little wooden bird houses are available at most big box and craft supplies stores … oh actually I think the dollar store has them too! Grab a few fun gems, paint, and you have yourself a fairy house.
Tuesday
AM: Knight Shield – This shield is STILL bouncing around my house many many years after my son made it. It provided countless hours of imaginative play.
PM: Shape Castle – Let your child create their own castle while subtly fitting shape recognition in!
Wednesday
AM: Princess SLIME. I love the juxtaposition of this activity, the dainty gems in the squishy gooey slime! It’s so fun and easy peasy to make.
PM: Beaded Fairy Wand – this wand is the perfect post forest walk activity. Have your child find a twig on the walk and turn it into a fairy wand!
Thursday
AM: Princess Sensory Bin – This sensory bin allows children to explore a number of concepts while playing!
PM: Shape Princess – You can turn this into a Knight too, the trick is to use two rectangles for legs and a triangle pointing down for the shield!
Friday
AM: Easy Gem Stone Wand – this wand is perfect especially if you don’t have an outside space to make the fairy wand earlier in the week.
PM: Princess Phonics – You don’t need to have the dolls, you can print out pictures of your favorite princesses and use the pictures instead of the dolls for this simple sound matching activity.
