I wanted to share this easy Valentine’s Day craft with you, but I have to be at school in 30 minutes, so this is going to be a quick post! I wanted to make a love bug themed craft that would benefit fine motor development as well as be fun. I had a bunch of extra glitter glue, so I knew exactly what I wanted to make. You could totally do this with paint if you don’t have glitter glue you just won’t reap the rewards of the pinching for developing hand strength, but it will still be fun!
Gather your materials. You will need some white paper, double sided tape, scissors, glitter glue, googly eyes, and construction paper. At school, I am using oversized tongue depressors for the love bugs body but as you can see you can also just cut out a body from construction paper.
Start by folding your paper and cutting it into a heart leaving the middle at the fold so it makes heart wings.
Next cover ONE wing with glitter glue.
Fold
Reveal!
Add the body ( you can cut it out while your child does the glitter glue, but if you have a class you’ll want to have this all prepped before hand).
Add the eyes.
If you want pipe cleaners for antenna got for it, all I had was green, so I opted out!
Super easy but still beneficial and the kids will love it.
