May God grant you & your family right guidance & blessings! We also tried "chain links". We used a piece of black construction ppr & red construction ppr. Cut them into strips, then glued a strip in the form of a circle (glued tip to tip) then put the nxt strip through the circle forming another separate yet interlocking circle. we carried on alternating colors.
