Funny story about "Moo, Baa, La la la" - my son's favorite book ever. When he was about 18 mo we were beginning to learn farm animal noises. When we asked him about the cow he said "moo", the sheep - "baa" and the pig - "la la la" - I kid you not! And his dad and I were laughing so hard that he really was proud of himself, thinking he was right. We gently worked over the next few days to correct this, but that is a very memorable moment for us!

My favorite detail in "Goodnight Gorilla" is the little stuffed Babar in the elephant's cage. My son has that exact Babar and sleeps with it, he loves pointing it out.

I forgot to add Karen Katz books as well, while teaching I never used them but as a mom they have saved my sanity on airplanes, in the line at wal-mart and various other places we need to wait. The flaps are just enough activity to keep little toddlers involved and the books are sturdy!

Goodnight Gorilla has AWESOME pictures! There's a pink balloon to look for on every page. There are so many details to notice. Also, Sandra Boynton has another book we LOVE around here called Blue Hat, Green Hat. It's so cute.
