I totally agree with you. I am so very excited that my 2-year-old is finally into the age of pretend play, because it opens so many doors in terms of what we can do together. And since playing make-believe was my very favorite thing as a child, it's like stepping back into my own history. Your post on pretend shopping inspired us to set up our own little store here. We use a flip cell phone to "swipe" credit cards, and he just adores signing his name on slips of paper and then checking to see if the signature matches the card. (He always decides it does.)
