Instead of throwing the plastic Easter eggs away after your Easter egg hunt, here are seven ways to recycle plastic Easter eggs that your preschooler will love. They can have fun with their creative side before packing them away for next year. Learn letters, make alien bugs, a pretty Mother’s Day craft or even use them for a science experiment. These plastic eggs are full of possibilities and let’s face it – we always buy too many every year.
Make these super cute Egg Bugs (above) with leftover plastic eggs, pipe cleaners and stickers! These were a huge hit with my Sunday school kids last year!
Make a bouquet for the Easter table or even Mother’s Day that won’t wilt or need a single drop of water with tissue paper and eggs!
Throw a few into a Spring Sensory Tub.
Introduce letters to your toddler.
Get into a scientific mode with this experiment using eggs to answer the question “Sink or float?”
Match up some colors – After Easter use simple nests made from colored plates.
Have fun with numbers, letters, and shapes with this discovery game using the eggs!

Great ideas. I was hoping you were going to have some ideas for those eggs. This is the first year we’ve really gotten this kind of egg so I’m glad to have some ideas to use them. 🙂 I was also thinking about putting letters that spell words in them ~ and then putting the words together. Not sure exactly how that will work, but I’m sure we can figure out something!
