[…] A fun and engaging pretend play activity I used to love as a kid was playing Veterinarian with my stuffed animals. This is great for any aged child seeking new ideas for pretend play. Give your child some space to play, whether it be a corner of a room or a whole room. Tell your child to pick out some of his or her favorite stuffed animals that want to go to the Vet! Then, gather your materials. You’re going to need a doctor play kid, paper and a marker, a bench, chairs, and some books. To start, you can set up the chairs and books for the waiting room. Then, you’re going to need to use the bench for the exam room. You can label the different rooms by using paper and a marker and use tape to hang up the signs to make it look more real. Use the paper to make a checklist for your doctor (child) for his or her appointment with their patient (stuffed animal). Lastly, allow your child to imagine and start running their very own Vet. Try not to intervene with your child’s pretend play because it is their imagination. If they ask you to join in, then of course join in and maybe be a nurse to help him or her out with all her stuffed animals waiting for their appointments or be the owner to the patient! For more detailed information about this pretend play at the Vet, click here. […]
