Over the years I have become more and more convinced that a well thought out environment with ample free choice activities and following each child’s interests is the best option. A very structured curriculum doesn’t serve early childhood education well at all, but reality is that many teachers are forced to use one. So ultimately I think learning how to differentiate is where we should be focusing our energies. If you can take the standards and turn it into play that would be great!
