Yes you can taste this “paint” as much as you want but this wasn’t a taste activity for us it was actually a smell one. When you paint with lollipops the color is almost invisible but the smell is almost overwhelming! That is why this is such a fun and quick little painting activity that not only promotes thinking out of the box but to think about more than just seeing paint, also smelling it! Perfect for a 5 senses theme at school or home.
Gather your materials. You will need some lollipops, small containers, a little water, a tray and some paper.
Start by putting a little water in the containers.
Next add the lollipops and let them sit for a while.
Grab some paper and invite your artists to check it out.
There is NO wrong way to do this, it’s just a fun exploration of a bunch of senses. That said we discovered the best color came from little dabs of the lollipops to make little colorful pools. When it dried there was very little color, but a lot of smells to check out.
This won’t use up all your child’s candy but it’s still a fun way to explore it.

This is so much fun! Did you let them finish the lollipop after they were done painting?
I love the smell factor. Reminds me of scratch and sniff stickers growing up!
Thanks for the post!

I don’t think I did but I had a fresh one for after.
