March 1st is Dr. Seuss’s birthday, and schools across the globe but especially here in the United States will be celebrating this great author with all sorts of activities. As I was prepping my post yesterday, I found so many Dr.Seuss toys and materials, and I immediately bought a few for my preschool class. Connecting books to toys is a great way to promote literacy, it creates a connection, tells children that books are fun, and builds on their experience with the books. These are not must-have items for a classroom but they are valuable, and if you can slowly over the years as budget allows add in a few book related toys here and there you will see the benefits. Here are some great Dr.Seuss related toys and materials for the classroom.
