This past week my 2-3-year-old students had a blast playing in our simple frog pond, exploring sinking and floating as their hands splashed in the water. Want to see? Check it out on Instagram! Pond Life is a wonderful preschool theme because it explores animals that many of our students see out in their own yards, parks, and neighborhood. I wanted to share some more pond life activities that I will be doing and some that are perfect for PreK and Kindergarten too.

In The Small, Small Pond by Denise Fleming is my favorite and the one I used this week while teaching. It’s perfect for younger students like mine but works for older ones too. I love that the frog is on every page, which is great because wiggly kiddos stay engaged by looking for it while reading.
