I am usually still teaching at this point in the year, but my school year ended early as we all needed some extra time to pause before planning for next year. I almost forgot to post my FREE summer reading calendars! I love summer reading programs ( check your local library for one), but I needed some fun prompts when my kids were little, so I made these! Every day, there is a prompt for a great subject to tackle with a picture book or a fun place to read an old favorite. If this is too daunting, check out our Summer Reading Bucketlist.
Every day I give you an idea, but if you are super organized -I am not, which is why I am posting this at like 10 pm May 31st- you can check out our resource page where we have specific title suggestions with links to where you can find the books too. See how easy I am making this for you? Why? Because I want you to read with your children all summer long. Not because I want you to harp on academics because I don’t want you to, and reading together is an easy way to build skills while having together time. One of the greatest indicators of school success is being read to, so go forth and read! If you need more reading tips check out my first book Raising A Rock-Star Reader!
