Kids love learning about the ocean and making ocean-themed crafts. Over the years, I’ve compiled many ocean activities for preschool, but I’ve never sat down and created a good list of just my ocean crafts for preschool. Now that it’s summer, many parents are at home with their children looking for fun easy peasy summer crafts for preschoolers. The summer is a great time to spend a little one-on-one time with your child making something extraordinary, like these preschool ocean crafts! Ready for the list?
Preschool Ocean Crafts
Paper bag jellyfish craft – this is one of my all-time favorite preschool crafts. It works on so many skills all at once. Don’t miss the video at the end of this post, it’s me making this craft and doing other activities that are perfect resources for an ocean unit study.
X-ray Fish are so simple to make. This is one of my favorite fish crafts. Have your child or students cut the bones from larger pieces of paper to work on scissor skills. If you teach Prek or kindergarten this is a great x-themed craft to try!

Sandpaper Sandcastle – this is a fun way to work on how shapes can work together, and it’s also a great road trip activity!
Painting Shells is a classic, and it’s simple. Perfect for busy days after collecting seashells on the beach!
Cupcake liner jellyfish is a fun way to use up those last few cupcake liners without making cupcakes!
Paper Roll Fish – Use up those tp rolls and make this sparkly amazing fish!
Sea Urchin Craft – Work on fine motor skills and much more with this fun and spiky ocean craft.
Shell Picture Frame What a fun way to remember something you did this summer. If you don’t live near a beach, you can get shells at your local dollar store for this beach craft.
Playdough Ocean Animals – work on creativity and fine motor skills with this fun ocean craft idea.
