Little ones are often curious about sleepaway camp but aren’t quite ready to take the plunge themselves. Camp Learn & Play At Home Campout can give them a taste of what they’re curious about, without ever leaving the comforts of home. Let’s go camping!

MONDAY
AM: Outdoor Book Nook – With all the reading you’re sure to do this week, why not make a cozy corner of the yard to enjoy. And if you can’t get outdoors, an indoor reading fort is just as much fun!
PM: Watermelon Craft – Nothing says summer and camping like a juicy slice of watermelon. While you can’t eat this watermelon craft, it’s a great way to get in some letter recognition work while having a little crafty fun!
TUESDAY
AM: Fishing for Ice – It’s always fun to include a little fishing trip in your campout. Grab a net and some colorful “fish” and see what happens when the different colors combine!
PM: No-Fire Campfire – Building a campfire isn’t always the easiest thing to do, but when you play pretend, it’ll never be hard to light or go out on you. Plus, none of the dangers of a real campfire are present but it still gives you a chance to talk a bit about fire safety.
WEDNESDAY
AM: Discovery Collage – A hike through the woods or even the park or backyard will give you loads of interesting discoveries. Create a fun collage with your treasures and put them on display to share with everyone.
PM: Archery Practice – What’s summer camp without archery practice? With this fun activity, not only can you get a little practice on your aim, but you also get to make your own target to hang up and shoot at.
THURSDAY
AM: Reading Picnic – Spread out a blanket, grab your morning snack, and settle in for some outside time with a favorite book. Kids can draw their favorite scene or character while they listen.
PM: Ice Cream Taste Test – Kids will learn about the five senses and making predictions during this yummy activity. Bonus – you get to finish with a really tasty treat on a summer’s day.
FRIDAY
AM: Nature Craft – Collect lots of fun gifts from nature, like sticks, leaves, and other items, and create a salt dough disk to put them on display. Makes a great paperweight or desktop ornament, too!
PM: Family S’mores Night – Cap off the week with a fun night of S’mores and movies! Plus, you can even take some time to play with your food before you start munching!
