Usually when I do a craft with little to no real art element in it’s because I want to focus on some skill, in the case of this Thanksgiving craft it is fine motor skills. Using TEENY TINY sequins is a great way to focus on fine motor skills as well as patience, the unintended benefit is that when kids add little tiny things to crafts like this one, counting happens very naturally. This is such a simple craft but it’s something anyone can do – and if you don’t have sequins, use buttons, or pom poms, or little bits of paper!
Gather your materials. You will need some sturdy yellow or orange paper, plain green paper, brown or gold paper, sequins, glue, and scissors.
Start by cutting out an ear of corn. If your child can do this ( even if they struggle some) let them, you can help them if they need it but please let them use scissors if they are capable.Â
Add the sequins. Oh! How they sparkle.Â
Next glue the corn on the green paper.Â
Cut some stalks out of the brown or gold paper and glue on.Â
