Having access to the Spanish translation of popular picture books you likely have in your classroom can help to facilitate great relationships with parents. Read the book in English at school but send a book in Spanish home to build that connection! Not only will that happen but you can also encourage reading at home with these great picture books in Spanish.
When I was speaking at the Scholastic Book Fairs Reading Summit this summer one of the things I heard from people attending my session was how they wish they knew which picture books were available in Spanish and English, and where to get them without searching. These teachers were looking for these books so that they could send them home with their students who speak only Spanish at home, hoping to make a bridge and facilitate reading at home that matches some of the reading at school. I hope this list will help them as well as you whether you are looking to expand your child’s library or reach your student’s Spanish-speaking parents, or just looking for a book in Spanish. Here are 25 great picture books in Spanish!
These books are all wonderful books I have read with classes and my own children. The first link is to the book in English and the second is the Spanish edition. This list contains affiliate links.
