I teach preschool remotely. One aspect of my program is that I have been sending supplies home for my students to play and explore with their grownups. This means that this year I have made so many printables because they are easy to send home. My goal is to shy away from anything too close to a worksheet. Instead, I opt for printables that are games like this space shape game. Add in a fun space-themed eraser and turn a plain foam block into a shape die with a sharpie, and you have a great at-home activity for exploring shapes.
Shape GameÂ
Gather your materials. The first thing you have to do is print off the game board. The good thing about this game board is that you can use it in black and white or color, so if printer ink is an issue… don’t worry, print it in black and white. DOWNLOAD FOR FREE HERE. YOu will also need a foam block, a sharper, and something fun for a marker. I found these space erasers ( affiliate link); you can get them here. I also always like to use a tray whenever I am doing an activity with dice of any sort.
After printing it out – make the die by drawing each of the shapes from the game board on the foam block with a sharpie. My local Dollar Tree does not have these blocks anymore, but apparently, most do. Readers have been telling me they are still available in the teaching section. Yay!
Let dry because it will smudge!
