If you grew up in the 80s like I did, you are probably as obsessed and afraid of sharks as I am too. Thank you, JAWS, for that. I love learning about sharks with my students because they are fascinating animals and use sharks for fun learning activities like this shark math game. This math activity is easy to make harder or easier depending on the student or adapt to a whole group lesson.
Making math fun is the only way I want to teach it. My goal is to build love and confidence with numbers. Here is how I made this shark math game.
Gather your materials. You will need this toothless shark printable ( download for free here), a dice, a glue stick, and some white PAPER. Oh, and grab a tray. They are great at keeping dice from flying all over the classroom.
Oh, look, some scissor practice to make the teeth!
Add the glue.
Roll the die.
Add that many teeth to your shark.
Keep going!
