One of my favorite themes for summer crafts and activities is watermelon! My favorite watermelon craft is below. Although I don’t focus too much on crafts in my PreK classroom, I love it when we can make something fun with a process that helps develop essential skills! All of these watermelon activities and crafts help to build critical preschool and pre-k skills in playful ways! Have fun with these watermelon activities and don’t forget to download the free printables!

This letter watermelon was a fun way to use the watermelon theme for some fine motor and letter recognition. Coloring on the paper plate was just the right amount of drawing, too!

This free printable watermelon roll & cover game is a fun way to work on a variety of math skills like one-to-one correspondence, subitizing, and counting. You will need a die or dice, a tray, something to mark the spots, like buttons, and the printable. Roll the dice and cover the same number of dots as you rolled. Continue until the watermelon is covered. Download the free printable below.
