Playing games together is one of our favorite things to do during summer vacation! Each and every game a child plays helps to teach them a lesson or two – whether it is a learning game or not! This week for summer camp, we’ve gathered up some of our favorites to share. You’ll find printable board games, simple reading games, scavenger hunts, and more, letting you get your game on indoors and out!
Don’t forget – if you need to sign up for the Camp Learn & Play email list you can do that here! This is the easiest way to stay in the loop and have fun all summer long. Check out our resource center for a list of all of the materials you’ll need for this great week of camp!

MONDAY
AM: Rhyming Dominoes
There are two ways to play this simple dominoes game that uses rhyming words instead of dots or numbers. Depending on your child’s skill level with reading, you can play on or both styles. Such a fun game for siblings to play together, too!
PM: Angry Birds Water Balloon Game
Angry Birds has been a favorite video game for several years now. We brought it to life using just a little bit of sidewalk chalk and some water balloons! Don’t forget to leave some time at the end of the activity for cleanup! We don’t want to leave balloon pieces laying on the ground.
TUESDAY
This princess phonics game can be adapted for just about any character group your kiddos are into! Superheroes, movie characters, trains, even animal figures can be used to match letters and sounds.
PM: Balance and Spell Spider Web Game
I love this game because not only are you working on literacy skills, but you also get some gross motor work in as kids balance along the web! For an added spin for older siblings, let them race the clock as they balance on the web. Names and sight words are great choices to use!
WEDNESDAY
Building with bricks is fun for kids of all ages! This simple game is helps kids learn counting and numbers, while they get creative. They won’t even know that they’re learning while they’re having a ton of fun!
This scavenger hunt style game is loads of fun to play outside in the yard, but can easily be moved indoors if the weather isn’t cooperating.
THURSDAY
This game is great for letter recognition and can be played a few different ways. Catch randomly, work to get a specific letter, or more advanced learners can catch the letters they need to spell a word or their name. Tip: We also use this game in our Under the Sea week, so if you do both camp units, you will already be set up for this activity!
PM: Secret Sentence Scavenger Hunt
If your little ones aren’t reading yet, they will still have fun playing this game. You or a sibling can help them read the words and organize them into the secret message!
FRIDAY
Download and print our game board and have some fun with rhyming words! Non-readers can get help from siblings or parents as they sound out the simple words on the board.
Duplo blocks are re-purposed in this fun outdoor scavenger hunt game! Such a great way to get outdoors and have some fun while getting some letter recognition practice in!
BONUS ACTIVITY
Want more Duplo fun? Add some numbers to the mix with this fun preschool math game!
