This is a fun little idea for preschools like mine that do Mother’s Day Tea. This easy Mother’s Day craft idea came from a big old stack of little Play-Doh containers and our Fine Motor Flower Tray (click to see how I made it) that my students have been enjoying for a few weeks. We used the Play-Doh to learn all about color mixing and like the preschool teacher that I am, I couldn’t just recycle the containers, I kept them for “something.” This mother’s day craft will be that something!
Easy Mother’s Day craft
We will be doing this as a free choice activity in preparation for our special tea with moms!
Gather your materials. You will need small containers. I LOVE the Play-Doh ones, but any little container will do. You will need some playdough and artificial flowers.
Fill the container half full with playdough. This keeps the flowers in place, and the container weighted down.
Add the flowers. I have a mix of colors in my tester but make sure to allow your child or students as much as a choice as possible. If they only want one flower that’s perfect, it’s their creation.
Use the centerpieces for your special day with mom! Make sure to pop back next week to see a shot of our finished centerpieces from our class tea.
