How To Plan A Summer Movie Playdate In 24 Hours Or Less

Break up your summer routine with something special, have a summer movie playdate! Don’t worry it won’t take you long to plan because I have a great formula for anyone to follow and in this post sponsored by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, I’ll show you.

summer movie playdate

You can throw a totally fun special summer playdate for your school age kids and their friends with not nearly as much effort as you think! Here is how I threw together a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 summer movie playdate together in a few hours and as you can see it turned out great. If I can do it, you can too. Spend all day having fun at home then hit the theater to catch the flick!

Here is the formula:

TMNT rice treats Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Out of the Shadows in Theaters June 3rd #ad

You need something to eat:  I made these super cute Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle treats in a snap. Follow the box directions and add some green food color. The masks and mouth are premade icing and along with the edible eyes are sold in the baking aisle of any major grocery store.

TMNT Jello cups for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Out of the Shadows in Theaters June 3rd #ad

These gelatin cups are perfect for the baking challenged. Tape and self-stick googly eyes transform them into your favorite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle character in just minutes!

Something to make:

Paper Plate Tambourine Kid Craft Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Out of the Shadows in Theaters June 3rd #ad

These turtle tambourines use paper plates, green paint, self-adhesive foam, more sticky back googly eyes, some dry pasta and a stapler.

Paint the plates and let dry. Cut out the foam and add the eyes. When the plates are dry peel the backing off the foam and stick it on one plate. Fill with dry pasta and staple together.

Something to play with inside:

Pool Noodle Nunchucks perfect for a TMNT birthday party. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Out of the Shadows in Theaters June 3rd #ad

These pool noodle nunchucks are cool but won’t damage too much inside your home. Slice your pool noodles with a kitchen knife, add colored tape, some rope poked through the side and knot it.

Something to play with outside:

TMNT Water Balloon Target Toss Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Out of the Shadows in Theaters June 3rd #ad

Everyone loves water balloons, and these are much easier to make than they seem. Fill your balloons, dry off any extra water, add the masks with permanent marker and yep more sticky back googly eyes. Pop some targets in your grass and throw!

And something to watch:

About The Film

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The four turtles return as they try to thwart off the evil Krang and Shredder. An army of soldiers is created to defeat the turtles, using Bebop and Rocksteady as the test subjects, causing them to mutate in the process.
