The leaves are changing and the mornings are getting colder, soon everything at the grocery store will be pumpkin spice, and we will be knee-deep in apples and acorns. I love all preschool fall themes; pumpkin patch play, apple and pumpkin printing, painting with leaves. I decided to put together this list of preschool fall center activities to help you celebrate the changing seasons in your preschool classroom.
Exploring all the signs that the seasons are changing through activities like these offer young children a chance to connect what they can see and touch outside to learning inside. One of our most important tasks as early childhood educators is to make learning meaningful for our students and using activities that expand on what they can see in the physical world teaches them that learning is relevant to their lives outside of the classroom. That’s why I like to integrate fall activities into all my learning centers so that children than ample opportunities to explore ideas like changing weather, fall harvests, and more.
