This simple little preschool Valentine’s Day Craft is my new favorite. It’s minimalist, but children can create their own family out of paper hearts, googly eyes, and markers with wide boundaries. While creating this little heart family, they work on important fine motor skills, pre-writing skills, and building pride in their family. Children can make their family or one they create from their imagination. They can even make pets. Celebrating families can be creative and fun. That is what Valentine’s day is all about, celebrating the people you love!
Heart Family Craft
Gather your materials. You will need some paper or cardstock in various colors. You will also need googly eyes ( various sizes if you have them), glue, one full sheet of paper, and markers.
Start by making your hearts. I used two different size paper punches to make these hearts from scrap. I love these punches ( affiliate links) from amazon.Â
Place all the materials and tools so the children can create as they see fit.
We glued our heart bodies down first.
Added glue for the eyes.
Added the eyes.
Then added arms, legs, and even a dog leash.
Let dry.
