Preschool Plant Life Cycle Lesson

This lesson starts by reading a book about plant life cycles, discussing patience ( a must for any gardener), planting your own seed, and then reinforcing the life cycle with a printable sequence puzzle.
I love using Lola Plants A Garden for this lesson because the book by Anna McQuinn is the perfect length for circle time. You could also use The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle, Up, Down, and Around by Kathrine Ayres, or From Seed To Plant by Gail Gibbons.
Learn about Clouds, Shapes, and Symmetry

This lesson uses a simple hands-on activity to engage children after reading all about finding shapes in clouds! I like to use It Looked Like Spilt Milk by Charles G. Shaw for it but you could also use Little Cloud by Eric Carle or Nimby by Jasper Tomkins.
Butterfly Life Cycle

It’s probably no surprise that I love using The Very Hungry Caterpillar for a spring lesson. If you love this book as much as I do check out all these resources I have. This lesson is all about pretend play, which this PERFECT for preschoolers! You can also use other caterpillar books like The Crunching Munching Caterpillar by Sheridan Cain or From Caterpillar to Butterfly by Deborah Heligiman.
Rhyming & Graphing Lessons with BUGS!

Spring isn’t spring without learning all about bugs! This downloadable lesson includes a read-aloud, a group graphing activity, and a small group rhyming game! I have all the printables you need. You just need a book about bugs. I love Bugs, Bugs, Bugs! by Bob Barner.
