Make learning memorable with these hands on outdoor math activities. Math doesn’t have to be all flash cards and worksheets. It can include games, gross motor, and some novelty like water balloons and Nerf guns. These 9 math ideas have been tested by my kids who adore math but even children who are not so keen on math ( me as a kid!) will find something they can enjoy in this list too.

I read all these wonderful ideas for a 3 old boy to do and I am trying to show my grandson, who I take care everyday, how to play but he doesn’t want me to show him. He just wants to do his own thing and throw water on things or me etc. How do you get a hyper boy to sit and play the way he is supposed?

Great minds think alike!! I posted Maths in The Playground yesterday. We both had the same great idea- even though we have different activities.

Wow, great activities! I found these math activities as well (they are done through movement), that is, if you’re looking for additional ideas. Here’s the link: https://westendinschools.org.uk/blog/lets-get-maths-moving-part-3
Have a wonderful day, cheers!
