Find what they love and use it to teach what they don’t! This is one of my strengths as a preschool teacher. My ability to adapt and differentiate activities to meet the needs of my students, both as a group and as specific learners. One of my best pieces of advice for new teachers is never to say never. I spent years hating anything that resembled coloring pages until a few years ago when I had multiple children who loved them and needed to practice drawing and writing with tools after months at home on iPads. This year, it’s not coloring pages; it’s stickers! My students love them, and I have found many ways to use that love to teach things in more playful and engaging ways. This is how I use stickers for math. These sticker math prompts are self-differentiating, and you can print our bug jar sheet for free or grab the whole set of math printables for preschool for just $2

3 ways to use sticker math printables
With stickers… obvious, right?

What are children learning and developing using sticker math printables? Your students will be working on both physical and cognitive skills. They will develop fine motor skills as they peel and place the stickers and refine their hand-eye coordination. They will also work on math skills like counting, one-to-one correspondence, and number recognition.

Reuse the same math printables for preschool over and over

Make them reusable you can laminate and use bingo chips instead of stickers
Don’t worry. Even without stickers, the same skills are being developed. Bingo chips are finicky and great for developing fine motor skills as well.

Mix math and drawing together!
Again the same skills are developing just with different tools. If you have kiddos that love drawing, entice them to work on math skills with their art ones!
