Camp Learn & Play Free Summer Camp at Home – Build It Week!

This is one of my favorite themes for our free summer camp at home, Camp Learn & Play. And do NOT for a minute think that this is only for boys. My daughter had a bulldozer themed 3rd birthday, and every single child in my preschool class adores building, boy or girl. If you haven’t signed up for our Camp Learn & Play email list, you can do that here! This is the easiest way to stay in the loop and have fun with free summer camp at home all summer long.

Monday

AM: Shape Bulldozer

This shape bulldozer is a fun way for kids to create by manipulating shapes. If your child prefers excavators or dump trucks provide a bunch of paper shapes and see how they can create!

PM: Measuring with Blocks

This math activity is fun for kids of all ages. Choose some household items to measure and grab some blocks.

Tuesday

AM: Painting with Duplo

You don’t have to make wrapping paper, just explore with paint and blocks. Also if you don’t have any Duplo no worries, any blocks will work!

PM: Outdoor Alphabet Hunt

Build the alphabet with blocks you hide all around your yard or a local park. Get moving and learning with this awesome activity.

Wednesday

AM: Build with Giant Letter Blocks.

If you don’t have these cardboard bricks from Melissa & Doug, you can always use recycled cardboard boxes. What can you spell with them?

PM: Shaving Cream Towers

This is one of my favorite building activities, and kids LOVE it too. Any foam blocks will work, but we go ours at the Dollar Tree.

Thursday

AM: Washi Tape Blocks

This super simple addition re-ignites children’s passion for building. You can also match tape patterns or even make your own patterns with the blocks.

PM: Painting with Construction Vehicles

This simple painting idea is made more fun when you have the space to zoom the trucks along big sheets of paper. Get outside in the nice summer weather and make some tracks!

Friday

AM: Pattern Blocks

Build patterns with our free printable pattern matching mats and keep them together with velcro!

PM: Construction Site Sensory Play

Use fun natural and recycled loose parts to create a fun imaginary construction site.
