As my facebook timeline fills with pictures of little faces on their first day of school I thought it would be a good time to round up a bunch of easy apple crafts for kids. Apples aren’t just fun to craft they are also fun to use as tools for painting. Don’t miss our round up of Books about School to help with the transition from summer to school year.

Apples make a great theme week. There are lots of ideas for activities to do for apple week. For one, check out duct tape apples my preschool students did: http://www.brennaphillips.com/colored-tape-apples-for-preschool-apple-picking
And an apple counting book for another: http://www.brennaphillips.com/apple-counting-book
There are others on my blog. Look around.
Thank you very much for this post. I was stuck in a rut and wasn’t sure what to do the rest of the month. Love your site. Keep up the great work!
Great ideas! Also, the book How to Make an Apple Pie and See the World would be perfect to read in between activities. Super cute (and educational) book.
These are all great! I am especially fond of the apple prints. My 9 year old loves using various ‘tools’ when she paints (which is a hobby she loves)–the apple printing allows her to add tons of different textures to her paintings, simply by changing the surface of the apple she’s printing with.
