Teaching preschoolers how to recognize and spell their first name is an important task, not only for practical things like finding their cubbies but also because it makes letters and how they work together more meaningful for them. This preschool name activity is easy to do and before you scream “You’ll ruin those Duplo!”, don’t worry permanent markers can be wiped away using dry erase markers, it’s like magic! I will be doing this preschool name activity later in the year in my own classroom when my students are ready, but I couldn’t wait to share it with you now. I plan on creating this for each student to do one on one on different days. The novelty that it is “their” day will help engage students.
Gather your materials. You will need some Duplo blocks, a permanent marker, and a base for the Duplo.
Start by writing your students name on the blocks. I am using the same colors for each letter as an extra scaffold for my young students, older children may or may not need that.
Spell out their name on the base and add the extra blocks to the tray. Invite the student to the tray.
Start building!
Simple activities like this are perfect for teachers to set out and work with their students one on one, some children will need a lot of support, and it will be smooth sailing for others.

Heya superb website! Does running a blog similar to this
take a large amount of work? I have very little understanding of computer programming but I had been hoping to start my own blog in the near future.
Anyhow, if you have any recommendations or techniques for new blog owners please
share. I understand this is off subject but I simply wanted to ask.
Thank you!
