Spider Activities for Preschoolers

Spiders are everywhere right now. Did you see my Instagram story? Learning about things you already have some experience with helps us to go deeper in our understanding. This is why I love learning and teaching about spiders!

Gross Motor Spider Activities for Preschool

gross motor spider activities

Spider Web Game – I use this spider web walking game every year to work on balance, gross motor development, and confidence!

Spider Web Hurdles – I love this spider web game with hurdles from LalyMom.com

Spider Web Spelling – this is a more sophisticated version of the previous activity, perfect for kindergarten.

Spider Theme Circle Time Lesson Plan – my students adore this lesson, and it’s very active too.

Spider Art Projects for Preschoolers

This pool noodle spider craft for preschoolers is a favorite!

Spider Web Art Project – these canvases are not expensive, and placing the tape is really great fine motor practice!

Painting with Plastic Spiders – yes, this is a novel painting idea, but it’s so much more than that. Using plastic spiders lets children touch and feel spiders, learn what they look like, and manipulate them in their hands.

Spider Craft  – this spider craft for preschool can easily be done independently, making it perfect for center or free choice time. Placing the stickers is fantastic for fine motor development, so use those stickers! Also, there is a time and place for a mess-free craft, especially on days like picture day or when students are wearing their Halloween costumes.

This spider S craft is a fun option to have at your literacy center.

Spider Sensory Activities for Preschoolers

No-Bake Spider Cookies – These cookies are a fun way to create food for a special Halloween party or even as you study bugs. Make sure you count the right number of legs!

Spider Playdough Activity – you can use more bugs like we did or just stick to spiders.

Spider Sensory Activity just trust me, your students will love this spider activity for preschool.

I actually just need Itsy Bitsy Spider Activities!
