Preschool Christmas Ornaments

These are the easiest to make preschool Christmas ornaments, and they are a perfect activity for your art center during free choice because they require zero adult guidance. I added them to my lesson plan last year because an activity I planned to do fell through when I forgot some supplies at home. What a serendipitous mistake because my preschoolers absolutely loved this and engaged in this ornament craft way longer than they would have with the previously planned Christmas activity. Yay for being forgetful, right? This ornament craft is wonderful because it’s really a blank slate, there is no way to mess this up, and the supplies are so budget friendly that children can make multiple ornaments if they want ( and many did).

How To Make Preschool Christmas Ornaments

Gather your materials. You will need some stiff light colored felt. I found this in our storage room as I was trying to throw something together for our art table, but you can find the same felt here on amazon with my affiliate link -> crafting felt. You will also need some sparkly pipe cleaners and glitter glue. It’s best if you can use these small tubes, but larger squeeze bottles work as well. I don’t have a cute-styled photo of the supplies needed, but it’s a simple list!

The only prep you need to do before your students make these preschool Christmas ornaments is to cut the felt into circles, poke a hole, and make a hook with the pipe cleaners.

Now pop the glitter glue, and the blank felt ornaments out and watch the magic happen.

I’m telling you, it’s so simple, and they LOVED it! I found this divided tray helped keep the glitter glue lids organized.

Many students made more than one.

Let dry and send them home or if you have a class tree, hang them up!

These are a cute way for kids to make their own Christmas ornament and get creative with glitter glue. I’ll have to make some of these next year to give out to family.
